John Strange was the next person to own the cabin. He converted the cabin into a private residence. Although the cabin continued to stand, it was not in very good shape. It had broken floorboards and other signs of neglect. Some of the neighborhood children did enjoy playing around the cabin despite the appearance. In 1926, the Strange family gave the cabin to the City of Neenah. Soon after, the city moved the cabin to Doty Park. In 1937, they opened the Grand Loggery to the public as a museum. In 1948, the cabin was demolished. Any usable doors, windows, logs and lumber were used in the reconstruction of the replica, which is now located in Doty Park. This is when the concrete floor was poured for the replica. Visitors can still come to the cabin today, when it is open during the summer.
